Big Thief will release their sixth studio album, Double Infinity, on 5 September 2025. The album follows their Grammy-nominated 2022 release, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You. Recorded in winter at the Power Station in New York City, the band spent three weeks crafting the album through immersive, collaborative sessions. Riding bicycles between Brooklyn and Manhattan, the trio worked daily with a community of musicians—Alena Spanger, Caleb Michel, Hannah Cohen, Jon Nellen, Joshua Crumbly, June McDoom, Laraaji, Mikel Patrick Avery, and Mikey Buishas—playing up to nine hours a day, tracking simultaneously and embracing improvisation. Produced, engineered, and mixed by longtime collaborator Dom Monks, Double Infinity captures a profound exploration of time, aging, and beauty. Adrianne Lenker reflects on life's mysteries with poetic depth, embracing change and presence: “Let gravity be my sculptor, let the wind do my hair.”
