Everything But The Girl - Walking Wounded [Deluxe CD]

Discover the acclaimed million-selling album Walking Wounded from Everything But The Girl, presented in a new 29-track deluxe CD reissue edition. This release features additional remixes and extra tracks, expanding on the original 1996 masterpiece.

Walking Wounded, the iconic work by the best-selling UK duo formed in 1982 by Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt, reached #4 on the UK Album Chart in May 1996. The album includes four UK Top 40 singles, notably the Top 10 hits "Walking Wounded" and "Wrong." It masterfully blends contemporary electronic music with deeply emotional pop songwriting, setting a new benchmark for the genre.

Building on the folktronica sound of their previous success, Amplified Heart, Walking Wounded also draws inspiration from the global hit "Missing" (remixed by Todd Terry) and Tracey Thorn's collaboration with Massive Attack. Ben Watt produced the majority of the tracks using an Akai sampler, synth, guitar, and an 8-track tape machine, creating a sparse and future-facing arrangement centered on Thorn's distinctive vocals. Producers John Coxon and Howie B also contributed to the album's innovative sound.

Upon its release, Walking Wounded received widespread critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic, with NME calling it "The new incarnation of EBTG is the best yet" and Rolling Stone describing it as "A career peak ... raw, pure and absolutely gorgeous." This deluxe edition offers fans a comprehensive look at a pivotal album in electronic pop history.
