Joe Webb - Neath Beat

Pianist Joe Webb delivers the highly anticipated next chapter in his rapidly rising career with Neath Beat, following his acclaimed and Mercury Prize-shortlisted album, Hamstrings & Hurricanes. Musical Style and Influences

At the core of Neath Beat is Webb's distinctive piano language, blending the rhythmic drive of stride piano with the melodic instinct found in Britpop. His storytelling is deeply shaped by the music he absorbed growing up in South Wales. The trio format channels the lineage of jazz greats like Oscar Peterson and Duke Ellington, filtered through the songwriting culture of bands such as Oasis.

• Features Joe Webb on piano, showcasing his urgent, melodic, and personal musical vision.
• The trio includes Will Sach on double bass and Sam Jesson on drums.
• Represents the work of one of the most compelling emerging voices in British jazz, noted for collaborations with RAYE and performances alongside Wynton Marsalis.

The result is music that feels urgent, melodic, and unmistakably personal, demonstrating a pianist pushing forward with imagination and clarity. This edition is available on ore blue vinyl.
