The Veldt - Afrodisiac [2LP Vinyl]

The Veldt - Afrodisiac [2LP Vinyl]

Experience the groundbreaking sound of The Veldt with this deluxe 2LP vinyl edition of their landmark 1994 album, Afrodisiac. Hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina, The Veldt, formed by identical twins Daniel and Danny Chavis, emerged as pioneers of alternative soul and shoegaze. Their unique fusion of ethereal guitar textures and deep R&B roots created a genre-defying style that continues to influence artists today.

Originally produced by Ray Shulman, Afrodisiac is celebrated for its bold blend of shoegaze, soul, and Afro-alternative rock. This 2LP reissue brings renewed depth and warmth to the album's swirling guitars, rich vocals, and hypnotic rhythms, showcasing the innovative brilliance of The Veldt's sound with exceptional clarity.

This special edition also features two essential remixes of the track 'Soul In The Jar'. The Jesus and Mary Chain deliver their signature distorted haze, while hip-hop pioneer Diamond D offers a rugged Guitar Remix that redefines the song's emotional core.

Recognized for their significant contribution to music, Afrodisiac has been named one of the top 50 shoegaze albums ever by Pitchfork, and the single 'Until You're Forever' was highlighted by Stereogum as an essential track of the genre.
