Slocum's meandering introspection playfully harmonizes against Kinsler's hooks, walls of noise, and a supercharged car battery's worth of synths and samples dropped into the ocean of their guitar-driven songwriting framework. Complementing this is Kelley's drumming, noted as some of his most laser-focused to date, creating a sonic chimera that feels both nascently developing in the early aughts and indicative of an unknown, chromatic future.
