Description
Alice Clark’s self-titled album is reissued on clear vinyl, featuring the original artwork and remastered sound. This one-disc release brings back the 1972 album produced by Bob Shad for Mainstream Records.
Recorded at the Record Plant studios in New York City, the album blends soul and jazz, with arrangements by Ernie Wilkins and Clark’s vocals at its centre. Once overlooked, it later became a sought-after album on the London jazz and funk scene and is now recognised as a soul classic.
Standout songs include “Don’t You Care” and “Never Did I Stop Loving You”, alongside a selection of heart-wrenching songs sung by Clark.
