Billy Lockett - Things Are Looking Up [Audio CD]

Things Are Looking Up marks a significant, transformative chapter for Billy Lockett. This sophomore record is a deeply personal musical journey, born from raw emotion, personal milestones, and the spirit of change. Crafted entirely in Billy's basement studio, the album reflects his complete artistic vision, being self-penned, self-recorded, self-produced, and even mixed by the artist himself.

Inspiration and Sound

The concept for the record was inspired by a playful sketch left by Billy's father, featuring cartooned 'Things' gazing upwards with the hopeful tagline, 'Things Are Looking Up,' which now adorns the album artwork. Infused with messages of hope, personal growth, and transformation, the album features some of Lockett's most uplifting songs yet. Reflecting his father's love for legends like Free, Bruce Springsteen, and Bob Dylan, the music keeps things real with guitar-driven songs and harmonica elements. While largely hopeful and upbeat, the album also includes the heartbreaking ballads characteristic of Billy Lockett's work, addressing themes spanning breakups, addiction, recovery, and love over the three years of its creation.
