Junius - Sotera [CD]

Junius, foundational to the Boston alternative metal scene, delivers Sotera, their first new album in nearly a decade. This release reaffirms the band's enduring influence and singular vision within the Post Rock and Alternative Rock genres.

The expanded lineup, featuring founding members Joseph E. Martinez and Dana Filloon alongside Orion Wainer (Constants, Tombs), Matthew Vincenty (Glacier), and Eoghan McCarthy (Circus Trees), brings renewed precision and intensity to Junius' signature sound. Expect a blend of cinematic post-metal and shadowed, atmospheric rock.

Sotera delves into profound themes, exploring ancient feminine divinity and the fractured legacy of esoteric rites that quietly shaped early civilization. The album is expansive and meditative, channeling myth, ritual, and emotional gravity into a body of work that feels both timeless and urgent.

This album represents a significant evolution for Junius, honoring the band's established legacy while pushing its sound deeper and further than previous efforts.
