Nederburg's story began in 1791 when German immigrant Philippus Wolvaart acquired 49 hectares of land in the Paarl Valley, naming his property Nederburgh in honour of VOC commissioner Sebastiaan Cornelis Nederburgh. Over time, the name evolved into Nederburg as it is known today. The winemaking team operates on a philosophy of innovation and continuous learning, drawing from a network of top-quality grape growers across the Cape to ensure exceptional vintage quality. The historic Manor House remains central to Nederburg's heritage, restored and maintained for special events, dinners, and soirées. Recognized globally, Nederburg has been listed among the World's Most Admired Wine Brands for four consecutive years and was named Platter’s South African Wine Guide’s Winery of the Year in 2011 and 2017.
