Mojave 3 - Excuses For Travellers

Experience the critically acclaimed 2026 Remaster of Mojave 3's Excuses For Travellers, a pivotal album in their discography. This reissue, remastered at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, captures the band at a creative peak, blending the introspective intimacy of their earlier work with a more cohesive and refined sound.

Recorded at Fortress studios with electronic artist Mark Van Hoen, Excuses For Travellers showcases Mojave 3's evolving artistry. Neil Halstead reflects on the album's influences, noting how they were more deeply absorbed and transformed into the band's unique sound, with Van Hoen's production playing a significant role. The album is characterized by its lusciously textured arrangements, featuring restrained guitar, drums, pedal steel, horns, and piano. It serves as an introspective listening experience, allowing Neil Halstead's voice and songwriting to take center stage on tracks like “In Love with a View,” “My Life in Art,” and “She Broke You So Softly.” Notably, this album also includes the sole tracks credited solely to Rachel (“Bringin’ Me Home”) and Ian (“Got My Sunshine”). Halstead highlights the lyrical focus of Mojave 3 compared to his work in Slowdive, emphasizing the necessity of crafting stronger, more prominent lyrics.

This essential reissue offers fans a chance to rediscover a landmark album from one of indie and alternative rock's most respected bands.
