Continuing the band’s 40th anniversary celebrations, this remastered reissue of Pixies' Complete B-Sides: 1988-97 arrives 25 years after its initial release. This compilation gathers the band’s essential “other” tracks, now available on double CD. This marks the first time the release has been officially pressed on vinyl, with a double black vinyl option also available.
Originally released on CD in 2001, Complete B-Sides featured 19 b-sides from the band’s classic 4AD era (1988-1991), including fan favorites like “Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf)”, “Into The White”, “Bailey’s Walk”, and “The Thing”. All tracks have been remastered from their original analogue tapes by Kevin Vanbergen, offering a fresh sound that complements his extensive remastering work across the band’s catalogue.
This new edition includes bonus live tracks on a fourth side of vinyl, featuring six songs from later Pixies single releases, including the 1997 Debaser re-release. The striking new artwork was created by Chris Bigg, utilizing photos from Simon Larbalestier’s archive that were originally intended for Pixies releases. These reissues were produced in tandem to honor the band’s late visual director, Vaughan Oliver.
