Musically, the album expands on the distinctive 'machine with a heart' sound developed in her previous works, Reward (2019) and Pompeii (2022), with Le Bon taking full control of production and performance. Guitars, saxophones, percussion, and vocals are processed through pedals and filters, yielding a silken, green-tinged sonic texture. Echoes of David Bowie, Nico, John McGeoch, and Laurie Anderson surface fleetingly, adding depth to this ever-evolving song cycle. Each track reflects and refracts the last—'a shard of the same broken mirror'—shifting in meaning and tone with every turn.
